Our tour starts in the capital city of Finland – Helsinki is a vibrant, cultural and modern city, at the cross-roads of east and west. From Helsinki you travel north to Rovaniemi, the arctic city in the heart of Lapland and official home of Santa Claus. Here you will spend three nights in the wilderness resort, Vaattunki. Transfer to/from Rovaniemi to experience the polar ice breaker in this full day adventure.

Day 1-2 Arrival in Helsinki

Arrival in Helsinki and make your own way to the city centre. Recommended is the airport bus. Accommodation in a centrally located boutique hotel in Helsinki.

Day 2 Breakfast at the hotel. Full day of leisure in Helsinki. We have a list of possible tours and excursions to fill your day, or alternatively wonder around this winter city with lots to see and do from art to design.

Day 3 Helsinki – Rovaniemi (Overnight Train)

Breakfast. Enjoy your day at leisure in Helsinki. In the evening you will take an overnight train to Rovaniemi. Accommodation in a private sleeping compartment on board the train.

Day 4 Rovaniemi - Vaattunki Wilderness

Transfer from Rovaniemi train station to Vaattunki Wilderness resort, a hidden gem located in the wilderness. Here you will feel close to nature and spend three nights in a panorama design hut. Activities such as reindeer safaris, husky and snowmobile safaris can be pre-booked. Accommodation and dinner at Vaattunki .

Day 5 Polar Explorer - Ice Breaker

After breakfast, transfer will take you from Rovaniemi to Axelsvik port, located in Båtskärsnäs. You board the impressive ice breaker and get ready for your three-hour cruise in the frozen waters of the Bothnian sea. You will get a transfer back to Rovaniemi and to Vaattunki.

Day 6 Santa Village

Breakfast. On today’s agenda is a visit to the famous Santa Claus village, to meet Santa and send a postcard from Santa’s post office, Shuttle service to and from the resort has been arranged.

Day 7 Departure

Breakfast. Transfer to airport and departure according to your own itinerary.

Local Tips
In the area and surroundings of Vaattunki Wilderness resort, locals make use of the prepared cross country ski tracks. We reommend that you give cross country skiing it a try!
